Vallabhbhai Patel Standing tall for Uniting India: Worlds biggest statue unveiled on his birth annniversary

The 182-meter statue of Vallabhbhai Patel dedicated in Narmada District of Gujarat by the hands of our current PM Narendra Modi. At the launch ceremony, the prime minister poured soil and Narmada water into a ‘Kalash’ to mark the dedication of the statue and with a press of lever to commence a ‘virtual Abhishek’ of the statue.

at 153 meters height, the Pm visited the Museum where it can accommodate up to 200 visitors at one time. It offers a spectacular view of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, its reservoir, and scenic view of the Satpura and Vindhya mountain ranges.

Other notable dignitaries present was President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Rajnath Singh offered floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birthday anniversary.

Many political leaders and eminent personalities paid their tribute to the Ironman of India on his 143rd birth anniversary.

Sports Minister RSh Rathore who took part in the event from Delhi said, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue which is the tallest in the world should have been made years ago. India has today paid tribute to a man who built India.”

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman from Chennai took part in Marathon said, “Post our freedom movement, Sardar Patel worked hard to get more than 550 princely states together to make India one. It’s only right that we remember him today.”

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray attacked the NDA government for Rs 2290 crore expenditure on the statue through a cartoon and questioned “Will Patel approve of this?

Gymnast Dipa Karmakar who had participated in Run for Unity last year as well said, “I participated in Run for Unity last year as well. It’s a day of extreme significance & I will try my best to witness the inauguration of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Statue of Unity.”

“Instead of ensuring a livelihood for those alive, why are you spending huge amounts and creating statues,” Thackeray questioned.
